Welcome to Ascnd University: Arrowhead Mental Wellness Center! We are a women-centered mental and behavioral health community on a mission to make healing accessible, personal, and empowering. Our goal is to support every woman—whether she’s facing trauma, depression, addiction, or simply navigating life’s pressures—with compassionate care, a strong sisterhood, and a path to lasting wellness. We believe healing is not a destination—it’s a journey, and no woman should walk it alone. We are dedicated to providing comprehensive mental health services tailored for women in Arizona, ensuring a safe and supportive space for healing.
Our Beliefs
We believe that women carry silent burdens too long and too often. From unspoken trauma to the pressure of being “strong” for everyone else—too many women are surviving, not thriving.
We believe healing shouldn’t require a breakdown to be valid. Mental health care should be proactive, personal, and rooted in compassion—not crisis.
We believe in meeting you where you are, without judgment or labels. Whether you’re feeling “off,” overwhelmed, or completely lost, you deserve care. You deserve to be heard. You deserve space to heal.

Leslie is the founder of Ascnd & a dedicated advocate in behavioral and mental health. With a vision to transform lives using technology to provide accessible, evidence-based recovery solutions. Leslie combines expert experiences in business, public administration, and technology, with a passion for empowering individuals on their journey to lasting change.

Co-Founder, PhD, LiSAC
Dr. Hemann is a doctorate level licensed counselor in recovery, addiction treatment, and co-occurring mental health diagnosis. She boasts 40+ years of extensive experience in addiction recovery and therapeutic community care with an emphasis on gender role strain. Committed to compassionate, client-centered care, Dr. Hemann plays a key role in supporting Ascnd’s mission to provide effective, personalized mental and behavioral health solutions.
